January 2024
January and we finally get some snow, not a lot but enough to cover the ground and make it look like Minnesota winter.ย This was a welcome sight since we had rain for the Christmas week, something I have never experienced in Minnesota before. And now itโs really cold!
We have to remind ourselves that 15 degrees below zero is really 47 degrees below freezing.
But we also have some wonderful frosty effects.
The river is near freezing over, much later than usual this year.
And the sunrises are beautiful.
The birds are in a feeding frenzy emptying the feeds a couple of times each day.
The squirrels are busy as usual.
And the deer are curious.ย This one came right up to our window while we were watching TV.
But it is also time for some of Bethโs fine baking-Cardamum Twist.
And mornings with tea and reading together at the fireplace.
And writing.
Enjoying what we are given.
