The beginning of March

Temperature up and down

There were turkeys and Toms, ready for spring

At the feeder-finches, woodpeckers, nuthatches, bluejays, chickadees

And juncos

And the first goldfinch

On the ground there were squirrels, but also chipmunks and voles

It was March and time for my birthday pie

The ice began receding from river and we began to see Coots

And trumpeter swans

And the moon above the river

And finally, the river at the end of March
