July 2024
A wonderful month for lush growth in our yard on the Mississippi, plenty of rain and not too many hot days. And we have flowers!
The Tiger Lilies
The Astilbes
The potentilla
The begonias
The monarda
The cone flowers
The phlox
The delphinium
The hydrangea
And an unusual, unknown flower
Our garden is thriving.
The border beside the driveway is thriving.
Our pots are thriving
Farther down the road-the daisies
The milkweed for the monarch butterflies
And the apples are well on their way
And animals. We always have the birds, an occasionally an eagle, and the geese.
And the usual animals the groundhog, the squirrels, chipmunks
And rabbits
In spite of wars, in spite of global warming, in spite of leaders who devalue humanity in pursuit of power, we still have the basic goodness of ordinary people, the consistency of nature and the examples of the wildflowers by the river that find a way to seed their beauty and bloom by the river.
And, as always, the river
Thanks so much Elaine.
Thank you, Bob, for sharing the photos of the beautiful flowers at your home. What a delightful gift from you!
